01/18/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Omaha, NE Alex is a tall OF/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the OF, Alex shows active footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/on-line through his target. Long tossing can help Alex build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth to load and gets good extension through the ball, producing solid contact. Alex can generate more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Alex gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and finishes square to the plate. Alex shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph. Breaking ball sits from 62-63mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 69-71mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Striding inline toward the plate can help Alex improve his pitch command. Overall, Alex is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Alex is a tall OF/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season Prospects Tournament. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
