06/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Alex is a coachable 1B prospect who made adjustments well during his time at the Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series. In the field, Alex shows active footwork and flashes good lateral range. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. Alex can improve defensively by working to improve picking dirt balls. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent line drives. Alex can improve as a hitter by using the entire field. With four more years to develop, Alex has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/18/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Pearland (Houston), TX Alex is a tall, thick 1B. Defensively at 1B, he takes active routes/angles and works into an athletic fielding position on GB's. He gets rid of the ball with a clean exchange and has loose arm action when throwing. With the bat, this RHH shows a square setup with a quiet head. He takes hard hacks through the zone and drives pitches with pop to his pull side. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
