Alex continues to work hard and makes strides in his game. With the bat, this righty has a balanced setup with patience as he waits for his pitch. Swing is compact as he is short to the ball, connects and gets good extension on his finish. At 1B, he hustles around the GB and into a square fielding position. He gathers well and gives accurate DP feeds. Continuing to develop his footwork and lateral quickness will help to increase range in the INF. On the mound, he keeps his eyes on the target and repeats well. FB now tops out at 66 mph. Changeup shows to be his best off-speed pitch as it has slight sink, which will result in GB outs. Finishing with more extension will help to improve effectiveness on all of his pitches. Alex is a (2019 grad) hard worker who still has a ton of time to progress to get to where he wants to be.

As he matures Alex will develop more athleticism and he needs to continue to work on situational defense. At the plate, Alex controls his barrel very well to make constant contact. He does need to level off his swing path and load his hands a bit more to improve in the box.
