06/01/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Alex is an athletic SS prospect who will graduate in 2020. In the field, Alex shows fluid footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistent with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load and hits against a strong front side. He produces fast bat speed through the zone, leading to solid contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Alex is a talented prospect who shows the skillset to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
