01/13/2012 - 2012 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Alex continued to show solid abilities on the mound during his time at Pre-Season. His FB shows some run and is a tough pitch to hit when he attacks inside. He keeps his eyes on his target, he maintains good direction, and he has good rhythm. His CB shows 11/5 shape and is sharp. His splitter shows to be his best off-speed pitch, showing some sink and tumble action. He gets outs and got a lot of groundballs. Using more of his lower 1/2 to drive off of the mound will only help to increase his velocity. Rozak projects best on the mound and should get looks to play at the next level.

07/29/2011 - Under Armour Southwest Regional Tournament - 2011 Rozak continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and showed as a two-way player on the mound and in the OF for the first time. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Fastball showed a range of 82-84 mph with late life and tailing action. Off speed pitches are solid showing as quality out pitches at the next level. Offensively, hitting grades and power numbers have improved through a level swing path. The baseball jumps off his bat when centered. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls but needs to work on getting behind more to play through with momentum.

03/27/2011 - College PREP - Providence, RI Alex is a tall and thick RHP who will graduate in 2012. He shows a repeatable delivery, good arm action and solid command of all of his pitches. He hides the ball well and keeps his eyes on target throughout his delivery. He threw his fastball in the 82-85 mph range and also has a solid split finger pitch to keep the hitters off balance. He needs to continue to improve on his CB which was inconsistent during his bullpen. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot which gives him heavy run on his FB in on a right handed hitter. At times, Alex gets a bit rotational falling off to the 1st base side. Overall body and core strength will continue to help Alex develop all of his pitches and keep him in good shape to be able to finish his game. He is a solid pitcher and is one to follow for the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
