10/06/2021 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Alex is a tall/lean RHP/OF in the 2024 class who is coachable, hustles, and is a team player. Defensively, he displayed the ability to take good angles in the outfield to work through the baseball and make accurate throws to bases. Offensively, he utilized a wide stance with a leg kick to spray balls all over the field. He also showed a keen awareness for the strike zone. On the mound, Alex is as projectable as they come with a big frame and decent stuff. Alex could benefit from cleaning up his mechanics to make his delivery repeatable which in turn would help him throw hard and create more depth on his off speed. Overall, Alex is a very projectable athlete and with hard work will develop into a prospect that will attract college coaches. He's got a very bright future ahead of himself.

09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Alex is a 2024 prospect out of Bloomington, IN who continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, he shows a sound, repeatable delivery that allows his arm to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Fastball shows a range of 76-79 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Alex as time moves on.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Alex is a RHP/OF prospect who showed well during the Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament. On the mound, Alex gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Alex shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 64-66mph with 10-4 break. In the field, Alex shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives the ball to his pull side. Overall, Alex is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

10/14/2020 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Alex is a coachable RHP/OF prospect who showcased his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. On the mound, Alex operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph. Breaking ball sits at 63mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits at 64mph with arm side run. In the field, Alex shows quick footwork and is agile tracking down balls in the gap. He fields ground balls out in front of his body and has a smooth exchange. He creates good momentum on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated on time and remains centered in his lower half. He rotates his core through the zone well and drives the ball to his pull side. With four more years to develop, Alex has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Alex is an athletic RHP/OF prospect who showed well during the All-Region Tournament. On the mound, Alex shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits at 63mph with 10-4 break. In the field, Alex shows fluid footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes his stride on time. He gets back into his load well and drives the ball to the opposite field. Overall, Alex is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Alex continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 67-70 mph with cutting action Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Alex is a tall and projectable RHP/OF prospect. On the mound, Alex shows advanced mechanics for his age with a FB/CB combo. His FB sits 68-71 MPH with some natural cut at times and the CB is 11-5 with good break. Pitching, Alex displays confidence on the mound starting square with a simple starter step. He gathers over the rubber with a relaxed knee lift and separates on time with a loose and clean arm action. He works down the mound keeping his stride in line and rotating around a firm front side getting good extension. In the OF, Alex shows good actions working behind the ball in the air and on the ground taking + reads off the bat. He makes clean exchanges to throw creating good direction. At the plate, Alex sets up in an open stance with loose hands. He gets his foot down on time getting his lower half through showing a line drive approach. Overall, Alex shows a lot of promise on the mound and in the field. We are excited to see his progress.

09/15/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - Indianapolis, IN Alex is a RHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2024. On the mound, Alex gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Alex shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 66mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 56-58mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 58-61mph. In the OF, Alex makes the routine plays and makes consistently accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth getting back into his load and sprays the ball to all fields. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
