04/10/2016 - College PREP - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Alexan showed as a RHP and in the OF for the first time at the event. In the OF, he utilizes his quick feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls well. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitch. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound.
