Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Alexander is an athletic and talented 2-way prospect. In the OF, Alexander starts in an athletic position, he is on time with his prep step, and has a quick first step to the ball. He fields the ball in a proper position, has a strong arm and a quick release when throwing. At the plate, Alexander starts in a squared stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and has good rhythm in his load. He gets to a balanced attack position with his legs and rotates his backside. He keeps the barrel on plane and makes consistent hard contact with a pull side approach. Alex will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Alexander is an athletic 2024 2-way prospect that was eager to learn. In the OF, Alexander is on time with his prep step, he has an aggressive first step to the ball, and plays through ground balls well. He has a strong arm but needs to follow through on his throws to improve his accuracy. At the plate, Alex starts in a quiet stance, he loads his hands back, and gets the barrel inside the ball. He gets to his balance in his lower half and looks to drive the ball to all fields. He needs to continue to stay closed and stay short to the ball and long through the ball. On the bump, Alex gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and stays tall on the backside. He stays rotational toward his target and works downhill. Alex is a competitor and will continue to improve with experience.

11/04/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Plano (DFW), TX Alex is a thin framed, 2-way player with good skills. In the OF, Alex has active footwork, firm hands, and he moves to the ball aggressively. He tracks the ball well, his exchange is clean, and throws with carry and consistency from a quick arm to his target. On the mound, Alex stands over the rubber well balanced, he has a clean arm action, and gets good extension on his pitches. He has a controlled landing toward home and competes in the zone. Offensively, Alex has a tall set-up, good balance, and quick hands. He has a fast/direct barrel through the ball, makes hard contact, and he works it gap to gap. Solid overall skills can get better if Alex can work on the following.

1. Play lower
2. Fielding position

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
