07/26/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Alexander continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 1B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but will benefit by presenting hands more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 76-78 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a solid feel for pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

06/16/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Alexander is an athletic and talented 2020 2-way prospect that has a high baseball IQ. At 1B, Alexander is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and works from the ground up. He works off the bag well, has a clean exchange, and has good footwork on double plays. At the plate, Alexander starts in an open stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and has fast hands. He battles every at bat and looks to do damage early on the fastball. Continuing to create backside drive and attacking the inside part of the ball will help him to stay short to the ball. On the bump, Alexander separates on time, he has a smooth arm action, and throws from a low three-quarter arm slot. He finishes over the front side and sinks his fastball. He has a loose spin on his breaking ball and has good arm action on his changeup. Alexander will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/04/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Vinton (Roanoke), VA Alexander continues to shine on the diamond. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
