07/26/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18)
Alexander continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 1B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but will benefit by presenting hands more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 76-78 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a solid feel for pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.
06/16/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18)
Alexander is an athletic and talented 2020 2-way prospect that has a high baseball IQ. At 1B, Alexander is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and works from the ground up. He works off the bag well, has a clean exchange, and has good footwork on double plays. At the plate, Alexander starts in an open stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and has fast hands. He battles every at bat and looks to do damage early on the fastball. Continuing to create backside drive and attacking the inside part of the ball will help him to stay short to the ball. On the bump, Alexander separates on time, he has a smooth arm action, and throws from a low three-quarter arm slot. He finishes over the front side and sinks his fastball. He has a loose spin on his breaking ball and has good arm action on his changeup. Alexander will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
11/04/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Vinton (Roanoke), VA
Alexander continues to shine on the diamond. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel, flashing gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 82 mph. Fastball shows a range of 76-82 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with slight break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength.

Alexander continues to show steady progress on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 72-75 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. At the plate he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows good plate discipline and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls through a low approach. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

Alexander continues to show a promising future on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show at 1B for the first time at the event. On the bump, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his loose, quick arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 77 mph. Fastball showed range of 77-82 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork around the bag. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front.

Alexander is a tall, lean LHP who will graduate in 2020. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. He shows good tempo through a strong balance point. Fastball showed a range of 71-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run but throws too hard to fastball velocities. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a tall, open setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Alexander has potential on the bump with time and room to progress his game.
