06/22/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2
Alex worked out at 3B and threw a couple innings during his time in Omaha. Defensively, Alex has sure hands, fluid footwork, and he squares up well to throw. He has a quick exchange, and throws with accuracy from a loose arm to his target. On the mound, Alex works to his balance point well, he has good arm extension, and he competes in the zone with his FB. Offensively, Alex has an open stance, good balance, and a short stride. He swings in good rhythm, hits line drive, and he gets his lower 1/2 through.
03/10/2013 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK
Alexander has a prototypical frame for a young 3B at 6'1", 185 lbs. As he continues to mature, he should develop into a strong young man who is a run producer. His swing already shows some rhythm and bat speed. He has a knack for finding the barrel and is not afraid to use the entire field. At 3B, Alexander shows good lateral range and plays through routine balls well. He has active feet, sure hands and an accurate arm - the signs of a dependable defender. As he refines some of the finer points of DP feeds, backhands and his release he will be a complete third baseman. Overall, Alexander has the look of a young prospect who could really blossom over the next few years.
