Official Scouting Report

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Alexander is a talented 2020 RHP prospect with tremendous upside. On the bump, Alexander gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and has a loose arm action. He has a controlled landing and works north to south in his delivery. He sinks his fastball, he has control of his breaking ball, and he throws his changeup down in the zone. Alexander dominates the middle of the plate and makes good adjustments pitch to pitch. Alexander is a competitor and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Alexander continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and he is a prospect on the diamond. This righty has a 4 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 86 mph. FB jumps out of his hand and shows with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Slider resembles his breaking ball. He works tall and drives downhill, repeating well. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth / clean actions with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. Alexander will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact, possibly as a two-way guy.

08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Alexander is a tall, athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, Alexander has a FB that touches 83 MPH, he keeps his eyes on target, and works on a downhill plane. He has good arm whip, gets nice extension on his pitches, and finishes completely. Alexander will need to raise his leg kick, allow his arm to get into a full position, and sharpen control for abilities to improve. In the OF, Alexander gets into a good pre-pitch position, he tracks the ball well, and throws to his target from a long arm action. Quicker feet, fielding further in front of his body, and a shorter release will help OF skills get better. At the plate, Alexander is a strong hitter with an open set-up, good balance, and good bat speed. He has solid pull side pop and gets his lower ½ through. Hitting numbers can get better if Alexander can improve his timing, keep his head on the ball, and work on barrel accuracy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
