07/29/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Alexander played the game intelligently and worked hard day in and day out at the Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City. Offensively, he had rhythm to hit, getting his hands and lower body ready to fire the barrel through the zone. He centered the barrel at contact and continuously made loud contact. Consistency delivering the barrel on a direct path and minimizing his big leg kick for enhanced timing were areas he attacked in the cage. Defensively, he worked in front with the glove and was soft to receive. He worked very hard in drill work and made adjustments to his blocking game to deaden the ball in front. He flashed pops in the 2.15 - 2.2 range and has room to improve by quickening his release and adding arm strength through a throwing program. In all - Alexander was an eager ball player that showed strong desire and passion for the game.

06/07/2015 - College PREP - River Forest (Chicago), IL Alexander is an athletic catcher who can swing it. Offensively, this RHH shows a balanced approach with rhythm to load. Swing is quick to and through the zone with bat speed as he connects with pop. He hits the ball where it's pitched, engages his lower 1/2 and drives the ball to all parts of the field. He will be an RBI machine with his ability to drive the ball to the gaps. Behind the dish, Alexander sits in well with good flexion and athletic actions. Throws down to 2B are accurate as he gains ground in-line, with pop times of 2.19. Continuing to develop his blocking technique will aid in his development behind the dish. Alexander is a skilled all-around player who has a bright future in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
