Official Scouting Report

07/07/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Trenton, NJ Alexander continues to progress on the diamond. This LHP has a 3-pitch mix in which to keep hitters guessing. He maintains fluid tempo, works at his pace and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 72-73 mph as he works it in and out. Breaking ball has 2/8 shape as he throws it for strikes consistently. Changeup shows to be his best pitch as he works to keep it down in the zone and get GB outs. He throws it with FB arm speed, helping to create deception. At the plate, this RHH shows a square setup as he works back into a loaded position. He takes a hack, hits the ball where it's pitched and sprays it to all parts of the field. Gill (2023 grad) has skills with still time to develop to get to where he wants to be.

04/07/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Alexander is a hardworking and talented prospect that made several adjustments during the Mid-Atlantic Regional Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, Alexander starts in a squared and athletic stance. He loads his hands back into the drive position and has smooth rhythm in his load. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball and driving his back hip into the ball will keep his barrel flat through the zone. He stays balanced through contact and uses all fields. Alex will continue improve with experience we hope to see his progress in the future.

03/11/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Alexander is a young, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, Alexander competes in the zone, he separates on-time, and he lands in a square position. He gets good extension, and lands with a proper stride toward home plate. In the OF, Alexander has good pre-pitch actions, solid range, and throws with a long arm action with carry to his target. Offensively, Alexander has a square set-up, a proper load, and good balance. He has a level/repeatable swing, and makes consistent contact. Alexander can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Finish
2. Arm action
3. Long toss
Outfield
1. Avoid drifting
2. Hands
3. Release
Offense
1. Rhythm/timing
2. Lower body
3. Barrel accuracy

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
