08/03/2017 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 14-18) Alexander continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.28. At SS, he displays smooth / clean actions. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but will benefit by playing through with his body. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 73-75 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker.

05/07/2017 - College PREP - Bowie, MD Alexander is a lean, athletic SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. In the MIF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to take proper angles but needs to play through with his body. Hands are soft / sure and present well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 74-5 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Alexander has a ton of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
