01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Alex is a 5'11/160 lbs 2019 OF from Texas, that is showing an upward trend in growth and ability from event to event with Baseball Factory. Most recently, at the UAAAPS Tournament, he showed an increased exit velocity (85 mph), with his right handed stroke that got to contact on a direct path. He was fluid with his move to hit and collected a pair of singles and a walk. In the OF, he prepped his feet pre-pitch and worked good angles to make plays. He had a clean exchange and threw with carry to his targets. Overall - Alex appears ready to jump into his pivotal junior spring making noise and performing out of the gate.

08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Alexander once again showed well in the OF and at the plate during his time in Pirate City. He showed a quick 1st step in the OF, good direction toward the ball, and he reads the ball off the bat well. He does a nice job of playing through the baseball with good momentum towards his target producing strong, accurate throws. Overall, Alexander has a good approach on both sides of the ball and potential to take his game to the next level.

02/19/2017 - College PREP - Tyler, TX Alexander is a talented outfield prospect who has a well-rounded game and graduates in 2019. 01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Alex is a young OF/RHP prospect with a lean, projectable frame who plays the game the right way. He has a strong arm in the outfield (raw velo = 76mph) and makes strong accurate throws to cut down runners and help out his pitcher. He shows smooth actions in the field to read balls off the bat and run them down to make plays. He works behind fly balls and plays through to gain momentum to his target and show off his arm on throws back to the infield. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup with a strong, on time stride while loading to a vertical stack with his hands. He has very good bat speed through the zone and has a direct, level path to the ball with good feel for the barrel that allows him to make consistent square contact and spray line drives to all fields. Getting more aggressive at the plate is the key to getting better pitches to hit and showing off his skills with the bat. On the bump, he shows a solid delivery with a 3/4 arm slot and pounds the zone with strikes. He stays inline throughout his delivery and finishes well over his front side, featuring a fastball in the high 60's. Alexander is an intriguing prospect who we look forward to watching as he continues to progress.

11/10/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Alexander is a lean OF who will graduate in 2019. At the plate is where he shows best through an open / athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball and utilizes all fields through a line drive approach. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. Working to get behind balls and playing through with momentum to his target will aid in improving defensive abilities. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a very coachable player. With 3 years to further develop, Alexander has abilities with time and room to continue to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
