01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Alexander is an OF/LHP prospect who showed well at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Alexander shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated in his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with explosive bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives. On the mound, Alexander gathers over the rubber and shows fluid hand separation. He works with a quick arm and accelerates through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Alexander shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 84mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 65-68mph with 2-8 break. Changeup sits from 70-72mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Alexander is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

10/02/2019 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Alexander is a coachable OF/LHP prospect who showed well during the Arizona Fall Classic. In the field, Alexander takes a good first step and is quick moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated in his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent line drives. On the mound, Alexander gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Alexander shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 82mph with late arm side run. Breaking ball sits at 68mph with 1-7 break. Changeup sits at 74mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Alexander is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Alexander is an athletic OF/LHP prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Alexander shows efficient footwork and stays directional through the ball. He gets into position on time and fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and throws with a short arm, keeping his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is on time getting into a small load and drives his lower half through well. His hips and hands work well together, leading to solid line drives. On the mound, Alexander starts with a simple rock step and gathers to a balance point over the rubber. He separates his hands on time and works with a loose arm, staying inline towards the plate. Alexander shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 69-70mph with 10-4 break. Overall, Alexander is a solid prospect who should find success in this, his sophomore season.

12/27/2018 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Alexander is a talented outfield prospect who plays the game athletically with high energy. As a left-handed hitter, Alexander has a relaxed setup with a centered balance. He has an activated load with high hands and a controlled stride. Alexander has a compact swing and can benefit from added bat speed. He rotates effectively with his core and is developing a more consistent bat path. Alexander shows the ability to go with the ball to the opposite field. In the field, Alexander has a relaxed, athletic ready position. He moves with quick, active footwork and shows agile actions covering good ground. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a low, athletic position. Alexander has a quick, clean exchange leading into a loose, free arm action. He plays with momentum through the baseball showing strong, accurate throws. Overall, Alexander is a gamer who can take his game to the next level with his above average skill set.

08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Alexander is an athletic two-way player who always hustles on the field and is a hard worker. He is a strong defender with range in the outfield to track down balls in the gap and get them in quickly. He has active footwork to take good routes and angles to the ball and cover lots of ground. He fields low and in an athletic position to make clean plays and has a strong, accurate arm to throw. At the plate, he is smooth and balanced in his swing to fire through the zone on a level path. He gets his lower half through and has strong hands to make solid contact and show pop to the pull side. On the mound, this southpaw features a FB/CB mix with the fastball in the upper 70's with cut and a sharp 1-7 curveball that can be an out pitch. He works quickly and has deception in his delivery to keep hitters off balance and we is aggressive in the zone. Developing a third pitch will be beneficial to getting through lineups with less stress. Alexander is a talented player with lots of potential on the diamond.

04/29/2018 - College PREP - Fairfield (Sacramento), CA Alexander is a wiry built OF/LHP prospect who has a versatile skill set. Offensively, Alexander has an open setup with a centered balance and firm front side. He has a good load with a square stride. Alexander shows fast bat speed with a direct swing path. He consistently lands the barrel to the baseball and shows a solid finish. He is a line drive type hitter who has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. In the field, Alexander plays with effective, quick footwork and covers good ground. He fields the ball in a square position with a firm glove. Alexander has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the ball and shows consistently online throws. On the mound, Alexander has an on-time delivery and he repeats his mechanics. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action and extends through his release. He stays square to home plate and can benefit from a longer stride. He rotates well with his core towards his target as he finishes. Alexander commands 3 pitches all with good movement. Overall, Alexander is a well-rounded prospect who has skill on both sides of the ball.

11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Alexander is a compact, athletic two-way prospect with lots of upside and advanced feel for the game. His development has been striking with a bump of 9mph on his fastball and impressive bat to ball skills at the plate. He shows fluid actions in the box with a strong load and gets on time with his front foot. His hands are loose and work on a level path through the zone and extend through contact to hit the ball on a line. In the outfield, he is aggressive to the ball with active footwork to get a quick first step. He gets good reads on fly balls and takes efficient angles to show extended range. On the mound, this southpaw features a fastball, curveball mix with control of both pitches to either side of the plate. He works ahead on the count and understands how to sequence his pitches to work through a lineup. Finishing with whip to the plat e will result in more velocity and movement on his pitches. Alexander is an exciting, young prospect with a high ceiling on the field.

12/20/2016 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 Alex is an OF/ LHP with a good work ethic and high baseball IQ. As an OF, Alex continued to make good reads on the ball, worked behind fly/ ground balls, get into a good throwing position, and prevented runners from taking extra bases. As a Hitter, Alex needs to continue getting his hands back into a strong hitting position, attacking the inside part of the ball and keeping a strong front side. This will increase his power and make him a more consistent hitter. As a Pitcher, Alex has a high 3/4 arm slot, commands his FB, and repeats a smooth delivery. Developing his secondary pitches and increasing arm strength will add value to his overall future on the mound. Alex is a well-mannered kid and was very popular among the coaching staff.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
