08/10/2011 - Pirate City World Series 2011 - Session 2 Lyons showed similar abilities as we had previously seen in Trenton, NJ and did show on the mound for the first time. Currently he projects best at 1B for the next level. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.18. Defensively, his feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly, especially on his feeds of the double play. Offensively, he shows good rhythm through a level swing path. He has strength with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered. His lower half is strong and he shows good timing and rhythm on his swing. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-79 mph with breaking ball displaying 11/5 shape. Alex is very coachable and works his tail off, always showing a desire to be the best he can be.
