09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Alexander continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting abilities are outstanding with excellent power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are strong and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.26 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/25/2019 - College PREP - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Alexander continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved, now displaying well above average tools through a tall, athletic setup. He has a strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer/exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed a range of 2.18-2.27 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. He shows a squared setup and receives the ball well. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, but needs to get body down sooner. At 3B, feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove is firm and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18) Alexander is an athletic and talented 2021 prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. At the plate, Alexander gets his front foot down on time, and has fast hands. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, create backside rotation with his lower half, and load his hands back into the drive position. Alexander will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/26/2018 - College PREP - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Alexander continues to show a bright future on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through a squared setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone through a line drive approach. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.18 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Glove action is soft/clean with setup improving as he improves his flexibility. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but will benefit by getting down sooner. At 3B, feet are active as he works to square balls with his body. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness.

05/28/2017 - National Tryout - Murfreesboro (Nashville), TN Alexander showed as a catcher and at 3B. He continues to show progress in his game. At the plate, hitting/power potential have improved through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a short swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. At 3B, feet are active as he works to square balls up and moves well laterally to his glove side. Glove action is clean/firm but needs to present more out front. Behind the plate, pop times continue to show improvements as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.44. Times will continue drop as he works to get rid of the baseball quicker and builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He tracks balls and sticks balls well in the zone with blocking skills improving as he develops better flexibility.

11/17/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Alexander continues to show improvements his baseball abilities. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest to date at 2.62. Feet are active as he gains ground and works in line to his target through a quick transfer/exchange. Hands are firm as he sticks balls in the zone but will benefit by presenting a lower target. He covers all holes through the blocking process and uses his body well. Leadership traits are present as he is very vocal behind the dish. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive approach. He works inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive path. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 66 mph. Fastball shows a range of 65-66 mph with tailing action. He slows his body and arm action on his changeup, tipping off the pitch to hitters. Mental makeup is a plus as he plays hard and is very coachable.

08/21/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Alexander is a C/RHP who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, Alexander tracks the ball well and is quick to recover on balls in the dirt. In the box, he sets up in an open stance and shows good balance. He leads well with his lower half and comes through the zone with good bat speed. On the mound, Alexander shows a three pitch mix with his fastball sitting from 62-64 mph. Breaking ball ranges from 50-54 mph. Changeup sits from 59-61 mph with good sinking action as he maintains arm speed. Overall, abilities will improve with work on the following:

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
