09/24/2023 - National Showcase - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Alexander is a 1B/RHP who will graduate in 2026. Medium frame lean build with some strength present. At 1B he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and plays with energy. Tries to create good fielding angles and works to keep the ball in front of him. Showed good footwork around bag. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 71mph. On the mound he works with good tempo and keeps his eyes on his target. Has a controlled landing and is square to his target. Throws a FB that sits 69-71mph, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup. At the plate he hits from a crouched and even stance. He takes an aggressive hack with intent in swing. Made square contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph during his round of BP. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

07/05/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (MS) Alexander continues to shine with his baseball abilities. In the OF he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he works hard and is very coachable.

12/19/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - North Branford, CT Alexander worked out in the OF and on the mound during his last workout with The Factory. Defensively, Alexander has an aggressive 1st step to the ball, he works behind it well, and he makes makes plays consistently. He covers ground, fields out in front, and his exchange is clean with an accurate arm to his target. On the mound, Alexander has good balance, he works in good rhythm, and he throws strikes. He gets good extension on his pitches and finishes out over his front knee. Offensively, Alexander has a tall stance, he loads well, and he stands in well balanced. He swings in good rhythm, he has a middle of the field approach, and he makes solid/consistent contact.

09/30/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Jacksonville, FL Alexander is a young, 2-way player who pitches and plays 3B. On the mound, Alexander stands over the rubber well balanced, he separates on time, and has a loose arm action. He repeats his delivery, gets good extension through, and is around the zone with his pitches. At 3B, Alexander has playable hands and feet, he gives good effort fielding the ball, and throws with some direction across the diamond. At the plate, Alexander has a square set-up, good balance, and he keeps a still head. He has a short/level swing, makes contact, and uses some lower body. Overall skills can get better if Alexander can work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
