Official Scouting Report

06/16/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (HS) Amaan continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

07/19/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Trenton, NJ Amaan is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add strength throughout. At SS, starts with efficient feet and a ability to move laterally. Good footwork to the backhand side and keeps his eyes behind glove. Fields from an athletic fielding position with a good glove angle. Clean transfers into a low 3/4 release point with accurate/on-line throws across the diamond up to 74mph. 2 hand exchange on DP pivot. A left-handed hitter, hits from an upright and open stance. Has a free and easy swing with ability to repeat his swing. Good timing to swing as he made consistent contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 74mph during BP. With continued growth and development, we see him having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Amaan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is firm but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 65 mph. Fastball showed a range of 62-65 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

08/14/2019 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Amaan is a lean SS/ RHP who will graduate in 2022. At the plate is where he shows best through a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At SS, he displays clean / athletic actions. Feet are active but needs to attack balls more and play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 61 mph. Breaking ball sits from 49-51 mph with 3/9 across break. Slider sits at 51-54 mph with tight spin and short break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. With 3 years to further develop, Amaan has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
