01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Amani moved exceptionally well at SS in his most recent outing with Baseball Factory at the UAPSAA Event. His lateral movement and soft hands worked well through the play and he threw across the diamond with loose arm action. Plus reads, quick footwork, and a sure glove are all suggestions of his ability to stay on the left side of the bag as he grows in the game. Offensively, he delivers the barrel on a level path and makes consistent line-drive contact. He has a simple move to hit and with added consistency will profile as a top of the lineup guy. In all - Amani projects as a MIF at the next level with an ability to leadoff.

09/04/2016 - College PREP - Livonia, MI Amani improved his power potential at the event, now displaying well above average potential. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. In the MIF, he utilizes his outstanding foot speed as he moves well laterally, displaying range. Hands / feet work well through the fielding process and presents glove well out front. Throws display carry and accuracy across the diamond. Amani will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

09/20/2015 - College PREP - Detroit, MI Amani continues to progress in his game. Foot speed has improved as he now runs his 60 in 7.10. Offensively, this righty stands in well with an athletic setup with centered balance. He woks back into a loaded position with fluid rhythm. Swing is quick as he engages his lower 1/2 well - resulting in pop off of the barrel. At SS, he shows good lateral range to his glove-side. He is sure handed, gathers smoothly and has a clean exchange to fire accurate throws. Getting on a long toss program will help to strengthen his arm which will aid in his development on the left side of the INF. Amani is an athlete who is a hard worker.

12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Amani is a coachable player who works hard. He moves well, light on his feet defensively allowing him to make good reads and attack balls. He has a clean exchange with accurate throws to 1B. Utilizing his legs to throw would increase his arm strength that needs to develop to play the left side of the infield. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup with a solid base. He stays inside the ball and gets good extension through his finish. Squaring up his stride would keep him from cutting himself off on the inner half and better use of his lower half would add some pop. This athletic SS (a 2017 grad) still has a ton of time to work on a develop his skills.

09/21/2014 - National Tryout - Detroit, MI Again, Amani shows improvement at his latest event. His 60 time continues to display his above average athletic ability. At SS, he has athletic actions with soft, sure hands. He plays through the ball from low to high and delivers a clean exchange to his target. A good long toss program and working on throwing downhill will improve his abilities at SS. At the plate, he has a quiet head and good balance, which give him the ability to see the ball well and track it to contact. He works up the middle hitting the inside of the ball. Developing bat speed and core strength will give him some more pop and carry on his ball.

11/07/2013 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Amani is a young SS with a projectable build. Defensively, he showed improvements to his game by forcing his hands further in front and getting more bend from his knees. At the dish, he showed to have a decent idea and sound approach. He is direct with his hands and level with the barrel. In the second game, he had a game winning double - showing he does well in pressure situations. Overall, With a couple more years (2017 grad) and further strength, Amani will be a sound player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
