09/22/2019 - College PREP - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Amari is a solid, strong RHP/1B prospect who will graduate in 2022. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release. Amari shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 62 mph. Breaking ball sits from 53-54 mph with 11/5 break. Changeup sits from 58-59 mph as he maintains arm speed. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help him improve as a pitcher. In the field, he shows efficient footwork and fields in a square position. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Amari can improve defensively by presenting his hands lower to the ball. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and takes a level swing, producing solid gap to gap pop. Driving his lower half more can help him improve as a hitter. Overall, Amari has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.
