11/12/2017 - College PREP - Wildomar (Los Angeles), CA Amari is a talented 2B prospect who has a strong, athletic build. As a right-handed hitter, Amari has a square, athletic stance with a centered balance. He has a load with a short, square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Amari shows fast bat speed with a direct swing path and strong hands. He is a line drive type hitter who can get extension at contact. In the field, Amari plays with quick footwork and agile actions. He fields the ball in a low, athletic position. Amari has a quick, clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He shows consistently online throws across the diamond. Overall, Amari has a talented skill set on both sides of the ball with potential to make an impact at the next level.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Amari is a lean 2B that will graduate in 2018 with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 6.95 60 time. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. At the event, he was 2 for 4 with 2 BB showing good strike zone awareness. At 2B, he utilizes his quick feet in his lateral movements, displaying range in the MIF. Hands / feet work well together as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Throws display accuracy but need to continue to build arm strength. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
