07/22/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (MS) Amaya is a 2025 SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, he showed smooth actions and quick/active feet. Good reads off bat enable to create good fielding angles in all directions. Athletic/low fielding position, with a low funnel, and fields out front. Quick/clean exchange, with ability to throw from multiple arm slots, and an arm velocity of 78mph. Showed good touch on his DP feeds. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. Hits into a firm front side, with looseness to hands, and showed good barrel control. Hit balls hard to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 81mph during BP. Reached bases 5 times with a double, a single, 2 base on balls, and a reached on error in live game action. He also had 2 RBI's and 5 SB's in live game action. On the mound, he starts with a small rocker step as he gathers over the rubber. Works with good direction down the mound and has proper stride length. A groin injury limited his ability to pitch. In 1 inning of work, he was able to throw his FB that sat 66-70mph. With 4 more years to develop, Amaya has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
