  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

04/18/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Marlborough (Boston), MA Anderson is a 2022 3B/RHP. Tall frame athletic build some strength present with plenty of room to fill out as he develops. Primary 3B starts with a good pre-pitch routine as he tries to create good fielding angles. Works to square up ball and tracks ball well into glove with a low funnel. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with accurate/online throws with good carry across the diamond at 83mph. Good overall actions and feel for the position. Secondary right-handed pitcher who pitches with good tempo and a simple/repeatable delivery. FB was up to 71mph with slight tailing action. Mixed in an 9/3 slider with some tightness and depth when he finishes down. Right-handed hitter uses an upright and athletic stance. Solid base with a controlled load and good separation allows him to barrel the ball. Good bat angle at contact with ability to hit line drives into both gaps. Intent in swing with a bat exit velocity of 87mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having an opportunity to play at the next level.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - East) Anderson is an athletic CIF prospect who showed well during the Opening Day Classic. In the field, Anderson shows great agility and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is controlled getting his hands activated in his load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to strong gap to gap power. At the plate he shows an athletic setup and displays rhythm to his load. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At 3B, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping (84 mph velocity) across the diamond.

He gets back into a solid launch position, whips the barrel with + bat speed and connects with pop sending the ball screaming (exit velocity = 92 mph). At 3B, he works lightly on the balls of his feet and moves well right to left. Hands are soft as he funnels smoothly and has the ability to fire across the diamond from multiple arm angles. Hart is a talented prospect who has a bright future in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
