04/27/2018 - College PREP - Potomac, MD Andre has continued to improve each time out at an event. A very heady ballplayer with plus athleticism. This 2018 grad should look to continue his baseball career at the collegiate level. Versatility shows through as he can play OF and IF, excelling at both. Primarily an OFer, he attacks the ball aggressively with great angles, fields the ball cleanly off the correct foot, plays through and showcased a strong and accurate arm. Offensively, has a balanced approached, drives the ball to all fields efficiently and shows plus bat speed. Very smooth rhythm at the plate adds to his ability to consistently produce hard contact. Great player on and off the field, looks to be a leader and should perform nicely at the next level.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Andre continues to show shine on the diamond. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws display life, accuracy and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work inside the ball utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered.

10/22/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Potomac, MD Andre showed solid overall abilities at his last workout in Potomac. Skills at 3B show best with quick/active feet, solid pre-pitch actions, and a low/athletic fielding position. Andre fields cleanly, he has a quick release, and short/strong arm across the diamond. In the OF, Andre has fluid footwork, he reads the ball off the bat well, and moves athletically to the ball. He has a loose arm with accuracy to his cut-off man. Offensively, hitting and power grades spike nicely. Andre has a strong/aggressive swing, good timing, and solid balance. He has fast bat speed, a short/direct barrel to the ball, and he uses his lower body well.

10/16/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Andre continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. At 3B, feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / clean as he presents well out front. At the plate, he has improved his hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered.

04/10/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Andre continues to develop his skills on the diamond. As a hitter, this righty stands in well with centered balance as he waits for his pitch. He whips the barrel through the zone with speed, connects with strength and looks to drive the middle of the field. Added power will come as he works to drive more of his lower 1/2. At 3B, he moves well laterally and gets into a square fielding position behind the GB. He tracks the ball into a soft mitt, gathers well and works in-line toward his target. In the OF, Andre secures the fly-balls with 2-hands, gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. He can track down fly-balls with speed as he posted his fastest 60 time to date (7.07). Andre has upside with still time to develop.

03/13/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Ashburn (DC), VA Andre improved his defensive abilities in the IF at the event. Feet are active / aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Continuing to increase foot quickness will aid in improving range. At the plate, he shows a squared / balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact, mainly to the pull side. Andre has a lot of potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

09/27/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Bowie, MD Andre continues to work hard on his skills. With the bat, this righty has a patient approach as he lets the ball travel into the zone. He takes an aggressive hack on a level path and squares it up, driving the middle of the field. At 3B, Andre hustles around the GB and into an athletic fielding position. He makes the plays with soft hands, gathers well and funnels to a clean exchange. Playing through and gaining more ground toward his target will help to improve abilities at 3B. In the OF, Andre tracks down fly-balls to his right and left. He secures the ball with 2-hands, and works in-line toward his target. Strengthening his arm (long toss) will help to take his OF skills to the next level. This 2018 grad still has time to polish his tools.

03/22/2015 - National Tryout - Bowie, MD This athletic 2-way player continues to work hard. In the OF, he actively works on the balls of his feet and moves well to his right and left (ran his lowest 60 time to date at 7.47). At 3B, Andrew works hard to get into a low/square fielding position as he tracks the ball into his mitt. Presenting his glove and fielding the ball more out in front will help to improve abilities at 3B. With the bat, Andre has rhythm in his hands and waits for his pitch. He hits the ball where it's pitched and uses the entire field. Swinging on a shorter/more direct path to the ball will allow for more bat speed and more power at the plate. Only a 2018 grad - Andre still has a ton of time to develop.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Andre is a very strong and physical 3B/OF that will be graduating in 2018. Offensively, he flashed quick hands, excellent barrel accuracy, and tracked the ball well into the zone. As he creates better balance and keeps his front hip locked in longer, the sky is the limit for his future potential. In the field, Andre displays a good set up and has smooth pre-pitch movements. In order to keep improving, Andre needs work on attacking the baseball more while utilizing good angles. He can also develop better foot speed to increase his range. In all - Andre is an intriguing athlete that has present ability and years to develop.

10/12/2014 - College PREP - Glen Burnie, MD Andre continues to work hard on his game. Offensively, this RHH shows an open stance with rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/direct as he connects and drives the ball. More extension through contact will help to increase power at the plate. At 3B, Andrew works into a square fielding position with a low/wide base. He fields the ball cleanly and gathers well. In the OF, he hustles into position behind the fly-ball and secures it with two hands. He works in-line toward his target and makes accurate throws into his target. Only a 2018 grad - Andre still has a lot of time to develop.

09/13/2014 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 14-18) Commuter Andre is an athletic ballplayer who has the ability to swing it. At the plate, he shows great rhythm in the load and the swing, allowing him to display good barrel accuracy. Andre also shows a direct/level bat path with quick bat speed, allowing him to hit the baseball to the gaps with authority. Andre needs to continue to work on his stride at the plate and prevent himself from diving into the pitch. He also needs to continue to work on his contact points, and seeing and hitting the ball in the correct point in the hitting zone.

07/07/2014 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition Andre is a very athletic two way player. On the mound, Andre is a RHP who can command his fastball and changeup and keep them in the zone. He works with great tempo, extends through his finish properly and has solid, loose arm action/release. He does need to work on carrying over his same, good mechanics when pitching from the stretch. Defensively, Andre is a thirdbaseman with a strong arm, good footwork and plays very athletically. He does need to improve his backhand and use it confidently to help improve his lateral range. At the plate, Andre has very good hand action, has good rhythm and flows through contact effortlessly, and his lower half works very well. He is a great kid, a student of the game type who is eager to learn this game in and out.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
