01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Andres is a skilled, R/R OF who continues to progress and showed well during his time at the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the OF, he takes a quick first step with good routes to track down fly-balls hit to his right and left. He works behind and through the ball, gaining ground. Transfer is clean with accuracy into his target. As a hitter, this righty has active hands to load and tracks pitches well out of the pitcher's hand and into the zone. He whips the barrel and engages his lower 1/2 well with the ball jumping when centered (exit velo = 84 mph). Once on base he remains aggressive and gets good jumps, looking to advance and put himself into scoring position. Cordova (2021 grad) possesses the skills that will produce and translate into the next level.

07/17/2019 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Andres is a strong and talented 2021 Utility prospect that continue to improve each time we see him. At the plate, Andres starts in an open stance and has a simple load. He needs to continue to get his lower half to balance and be aggressive attacking the ball with his lower half. He also needs to keep a quiet head and see the ball to contact. In the OF, Andres creates good angles and fields the ball in a proper fielding position. He plays through the ball, has a clean exchange, and a quick release. Andres will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

03/17/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Tomball (Houston), TX Andres is an athletic SS/OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At SS, Andres shows quick footwork and covers ground well. He fields with a firm glove and gets good carry on his throws. In the OF, Andres shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields with ball with a firm glove. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a level swing, making solid contact. Overall, Andres is a talented prospect who should find success throughout his sophomore season.

08/03/2018 - College PREP - Anchorage, AK Andres is a lean. Athletic 2021 prospect who shows positional versatility and the ability to play two positions well. He shows off a cannon for an arm in the outfield, cutting down runners with ease and discouraging runners from advancing. He gets behind the ball in the outfield to play through with momentum to his target. At short, his footwork is active and efficient to show range to both sides and his arm is plenty strong to make throws from the hole. At the plate, he shows a line drive approach with a level path, getting on plane behind the zone. He has a strong lower half and rotates his hips violently to generate power to all fields. Keeping his front shoulder square longer will allow him to cover the outer half of the plate more easily. Andres is a talented player who continues to improve and has a bright future in the game.

07/10/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Anchorage, AK Andres continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has really improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.19. At the plate, he has improved his hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. At SS, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are aggressive in attacking balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is soft / clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program to stay on the left side of the IF.

11/10/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Andres is a tall, athletic SS/OF prospect who has skill on both sides of the ball. As a right-handed hitter, Andres has a tall stance with an on time stride and load. He has smooth rhythm with a centered balance and leads his swing with his lower half. Andres has an on-plane swing path with strong hands. He is a line drive hitter and sprays the ball to all fields. In the outfield, Andres plays with fluid footwork and approaches the ball aggressively with agile actions. He does a nice job getting behind the baseball and fielding it in a low, athletic position. Andres has a quick exchange leading into a loose arm action from a high 3/4 slot. He plays with momentum through the baseball helping his throws have carry and stay online. Overall, Andres plays the game with athleticism and has solid fundamentals that will allow him to continue to progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
