Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/OFPosition Projection

06/09/2019 - College PREP - Medford (Boston), MA Andres is a lean, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and OF. In the INF, Andrews has athletic actions, active feet, and soft hands. He moves well to the ball, takes solid angles, and throws with momentum from a loose arm action to his target. In the OF, Andres has aggressive actions, fluid feet, and he moves with agility to the ball. He fields cleanly, makes plays, and has an accurate arm to his target. If Andres can work behind the ball quicker and finish throws, solid OF skills will get even better. Offensively, Andres has an athletic set-up, a solid base, and good balance. He has fast bat speed, a direct barrel through the zone, and he taps into his lower body. Improved barrel accuracy and letting the ball travel deeper can help hitting improve.

06/04/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Medford (Boston), MA Andres is an athletic OF/RHP. Defensively in the OF, he takes aggressive routes and gets behind the fly ball. He has a clean transfer and makes strong throws to his target. On the mound, this righty gathers over the rubber and works downhill. He delivers a FB that moves with loose arm action and stays directional towards home plate. With the stick, Andres shows an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. He swings on a direct path through the zone as he creates hard, solid contact with each pitch. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Develop soft hands
2. Quicker exchange throw
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Develop an off speed pitch
2. Pound zone with strikes
3. Finish strong
Offense
1. More load
2. Improve bat speed
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
