04/14/2019 - College PREP - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Andres is a strong RHP prospect who will graduate in 2020. On the mound, Andres gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Andres shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 70-72mph with late 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 75-76mph with tailing action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Andres is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

12/27/2017 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Andres is a solid, athletic RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound, compact, and repeatable, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 75-78 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. With 3 years to further develop, Andres has a big upside on the bump with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
