02/26/2023 - National Showcase - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL Andres is a gifted SS/RHP in the 2023 class. In the field, he has solid and athletic actions. Feet are active and shows plus range (6.92 runner). Takes excellent attack angles and plays through the baseball. Pocket has feel and his exchanges are clean. Has short and loose ¾ arm action with next level life and accuracy across the diamond (91 velo). Working to slow the game down will benefit him as he takes his defensive talents to the next level. On the mound, he simply pounds the zone. Displays aggressive arm action and uses his whole body in his delivery. His FB sat 80-3 with heavy run and sink. His breaking pitch sat 70-1 with 11-5 shape and sharp break. His CH showed great feel at 73-4. At the plate, he demonstrates advanced feel. He likes to attack the baseball and swing with a purpose. Has power to the pull side and can stay inside the ball and go back side. Barrel stays in the zone and can back spin the baseball for carry. Overall, Andres is a next level player who can help a college program on the mound, defensively and with his bat. Andres has a bright future ahead of himself.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
