AJ is a talented/projectable RHP who pounds the zone with strikes. He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 70-73 mph. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with gradual break. Changeup has good sink and compliments his FB well. He commands the zone and can spot up on all 3-pitches. With the bat, this righty shows a tall stance with an aggressive approach as he's looking to swing it. Quick hands (84 mph exit velocity) whip the barrel to and through the zone as he connects and hits hard line-drives. AJ is a skilled (2021 grad) RHP who will toe the rubber and compete.
01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 14-18)
AJ showed offensive upgrades and a spike in exit velocity to 82 MPH during his time in AZ. He is a tall, 2-way player with progressing skills at 1B and on the bump. Defensively, AJ fields athletically, hands are presentable, and he keeps the ball in front of his body. He picks out the right hops, gains some ground, and throws accurately to his target. On the mound, AJ has a good presence, a clean arm circle, and he gets good extension toward the plate. He touched 77 MPH on the gun and shows a controlled/complete finish toward home. Offensively, AJ is a strong hitter with fast bat speed and good hand-eye coordination. He swings in good rhythm, he uses his lower body, and he works the ball gap to gap. He is a hard working, coachable player who wants to get better.

AJ is a long, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, AJ has efficient footwork, he covers ground well, and fields in an athletic position. He moves well around the bag, he is a good target for his infielders, and throws with solid direction to his target. A softer glove and playing more under control will help defense get better. On the mound, AJ has good balance over the rubber and a loose arm circle. He separates his hands on time, lands with good direction toward the plate, and throws strikes. Mound effectiveness can get better with added arm strength, more glove side lead, and work on off-speed. Offensively, AJ has an athletic stance, good balance, and he works the middle of the field. He has still eyes, a level stroke, and he can spray the ball to all fields. Hitting can improve with better timing and more lower body.
