06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18)
Andrew is an athletic and talented 2-way prospect. At the hot corner, Andrew presents a low/early glove, works from the ground up, and plays through the ball. He has good feeds on double plays and has good footwork off the bag. He makes the routine play but needs to continue to be on time with his pre step and improve his first step quickness to the ball. At the plate Andrew had a good week going 2-5 with a double, and 2 HBP's. He loads his hands back, Creates good pre pitch rhythm, and looks for the ball middle-in. He makes consistent contact but needs to create more backside drive with his lower half. On the bump, Andrew has a simple over the head delivery and works downhill. He finds a balance point, separates on time, and stays directional. He has good tempo and works at an efficient pace. He has good tilt on his curveball and has some feel for the changeup. Andrew will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
12/27/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Rindge, NH
Andrew increased radar velocity to 75 MPH and also improve hitting numbers during his last workout with The Factory. On the mound, Andrew has good balance, a quick arm action, and he throws a heavy ball. He separates on time, lands with good direction, and he throws strikes. At 3B, Andrew has good pre-pitch actions, active footwork, and he fields aggressively. He keeps the ball in front of his body, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy from a short arm action to his target. At the plate, Andrew has an open stance, a square stride, and good balance. He has a loose grip, a direct barrel, and he taps into some lower body.
11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18)
Andrew is an athletic/projectable, R/R 3B who plays the game the right way. He is a coachable player, a great teammate and brings a positive energy to the field everyday. Defensively at 3B, he displays active prep footwork and is aggressive to come and get the ball. He tracks the ball into his mitt, gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. Working into a lower fielding position while presenting his glove and fielding the GB more out in front will help to improve skills at 3B. With the bat, this RHH displays a tall/open stance with patience as he waits for a pitch he likes (drew 2 walks at the event). He remains balanced, gets loaded and swings on a short/direct path. He likes the ball on the inner 1/2 and pulls it with some pop. Continuing to work on his stride (leg kick) / timing of the landing of his front foot will help to increase hard contact consistency. Only a 2021 grad, Baxter has a solid skill-set with upside as he continues to develop.
