09/25/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - York, PA Andrew is a 3B/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the field, Andrew shows efficient footwork and moves well laterally. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, creating good carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He works through a short/direct swing with fast bat speed, producing strong line drives. On the mound, Andrew gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate. Andrew operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph. Breaking ball sits from 67-68mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 64-67mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Andrew is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

04/24/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - York, PA Andrew is a strong (6’4/200) two-way player in the 2023 class. He impressed scouts with his actions at 3rd and on the mound. In the field, he has active feet and works well to the baseball. He stays under the ball and funnels well. Strong to his glove side and has clean exchanges. Makes accurate feeds to the bases and has the arm strength (80 velo) to gather himself and beat the runners. Staying in his legs more on his throws will help quicken his release and assist with following his feeds/driving to his targets. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix from an over-the-top slot. He has a compact and repeatable delivery. His FB topped at 75 with more in the tank. His CB sat 65-8 with 11/5 shape and was commanded well. His CH sat 66-7 and worked well down in the zone. At the plate, he is aggressive and works well in the middle of the field. Has fast bat speed and gets his hands through the baseball. Has fluid timing and stays inside his feet to produce square contact. Working to gain hand separation will provide added power to his swing. Overall, he has the size scouts are looking for and with further dedication, Andrew will receive looks for the next level.

02/26/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Andrew continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Feet are active as he works around balls, creating angles, and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond. He shows off his athletic abilities on the slow roller and maintains plus body control. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel (87 mph exit velocity) with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side.

01/23/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Andrew ran his best 60 to date at 7.69 seconds and raised exit velocity to 81 MPH during his last workout with The Factory. He only did the metrics and took batting practice during the session. Andrew is a big 3rd baseman with skills continuing to improve. At the plate, Andrew has a tall/square stance, good balance, and solid bat speed. He tracks well to the barrel, barrels it up well, and hits with strength to the pull side.

07/30/2021 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (HS) Andrew is a coachable 2023 3B/RHP prospect out of Palmyra, PA who worked hard on his skills during the Pro Select Training & Tournament. In the field, Andrew starts in an athletic position and makes the routine plays. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, creating good carry through his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Andrew field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed, producing solid line drives. Andrew can barrel up more baseballs by working on his contact points. On the mound, Andrew gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Andrew operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 63-66mph with 11-5 break. Long tossing can help Andrew build up his arm strength. Overall, Andrew is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

05/16/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - York, PA Andrew continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to squares balls up but needs to attack more and play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 69-70 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

02/13/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Andrew Bell is a 2023 3B/RHP. Tall frame and long levers with plenty of room to fill out as he develops. Primary third baseman, glove works well out in front, stays in front of the baseball well and uses an over the top slot to throw to all bags. On the mound, has a long arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Works down the mound with great tempo and rhythm. Mixes in a 10/4 shaped curveball with medium bite. Right-handed hitter, uses an upright and balanced stance. Rotates well with a level swing that generates consistent contact pull side.

01/17/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Andrew improved his abilities on the mound at the event. 07/28/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Andrew continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays clean/smooth actions. He works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 6 for 12 with 3 RBI. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 69 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with loose spin and gradual break. He maintains arm speed but throws too hard resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/08/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Andrew showed an increase in arm strength to 66 MPH and ran his best 60 to date at 8.72 seconds during his last workout. At 3rd base, Andrew has efficient footwork, firm hands, and a low/athletic fielding position. He creates a good fielding angle, makes plays, and throws with accuracy across to his target. On the mound, Andrew has good balance, on-time hand separation, and lands with good direction toward home plate. He keeps his eyes on target and competes in the zone. At the plate, Andrew has a closed stance, a still head, and swings in some rhythm. He puts the bat on the ball and hits it hard to the pull side.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Andrew is an athletic 2023 2-way prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments throughout the week. At 3B, Andrew is on time with his prep step, he has a good first step to the ball, and presents a low/early glove. He fields the ball in an athletic position and has good hands when fielding the ball. He has a clean exchange, plays through the ball well, and understands positioning. At the plate, Andrew starts in a squared stance, he makes consistent contact, and has a pull side approach. He needs to continue to load his hands back into the drive position, get his lower half to balance, and look to attack the fastball. Keeping the barrel inside the ball and seeing the ball into contact will improve his ability to hit line drives to all fields. On the bump, Andrew gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a clean arm action. He throws three pitches but focusing on having feel for the change up and commanding the fastball down in the zone should be his pitching priority this fall. Finding a consistent balance point and working downhill will improve his delivery. Andrew will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

03/02/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Hitting, Pitching & Catching Combined Weekend (Ages 12-14) Andrew is a coachable RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills at the Accelerated Training Weekend. On the mound, Andrew gathers over the rubber and works inline towards the plate. He keeps his eyes on target and finishes with a controlled landing. Andrew shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 58mph. Breaking ball sits from 46-50mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits at 52mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Andrew can improve as a pitcher by separating his hands earlier in his motion. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and gets into his load well. He drives through with his lower half and drives the ball into the gaps. Getting into his load sooner can help Andrew improve as a hitter. With four more years to develop, Andrew has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/14/2018 - Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Andrew is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who hustled all over the field during his time at the D.C. All Star Experience. In the field, Andrew flashes good range to his backhand side and keeps his eyes low. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws consistent to his target. Andrew can improve defensively by fielding the ball out in front of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He takes a direct swing to the ball and produces solid line drives. Andrew can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Andrew keeps his eyes on target as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm action and stays inline towards the plate. Andrew has a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 55mph. Breaking ball ranges from 45-49mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 49-50mph as he throws with fastball arm speed. Andrew can improve as a pitcher by extending his arm through on his release. With five more years to develop, Andrew has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
