07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14)
Andrew is an athletic 2023 2-way prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments throughout the week. At 3B, Andrew is on time with his prep step, he has a good first step to the ball, and presents a low/early glove. He fields the ball in an athletic position and has good hands when fielding the ball. He has a clean exchange, plays through the ball well, and understands positioning. At the plate, Andrew starts in a squared stance, he makes consistent contact, and has a pull side approach. He needs to continue to load his hands back into the drive position, get his lower half to balance, and look to attack the fastball. Keeping the barrel inside the ball and seeing the ball into contact will improve his ability to hit line drives to all fields. On the bump, Andrew gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a clean arm action. He throws three pitches but focusing on having feel for the change up and commanding the fastball down in the zone should be his pitching priority this fall. Finding a consistent balance point and working downhill will improve his delivery. Andrew will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
