Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

07/25/2009 - Team One North 2009 Andrew continues to show as a two-way player on the mound and at SS but projects only at SS for the next level. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.72 runner. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in his lateral movement displaying range. He is a solid defensive middle infielder that makes all the plays. He needs to stay on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength with carry on throws. At the plate, power numbers have improved to near above average as the baseball jumps off his bat when centered. He uses the entire field and was 4 for 5 with a 3B at the event.

01/16/2009 - Under Armour Pre-Season All America - 2009 Andrew continues to improve his baseball abilities and now shows as a top notch defensive middle infielder. Defensive abilities have improved as his hands and feet continue to work together well through the fielding and throwing process. Glove action is soft, clean, and sure in making all the balls. His feet are quick and aggressive in coming to get and playing through, displaying the ability to throw from all angles. He does need to get on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength. Hitting abilities have also improved now showing above average ability. He maintains solid balance through the swing, taking hands direct to the baseball, and stays through displaying extension at contact. Andrew has the makings to be a solid collegiate player, especially defensively and will get a lot of attention from the collegiate coaches.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
