05/26/2012 - Little League® Experience Andrew is a 2018 graduate who plays middle infield. As an infielder he displayed an athletic/low fielding position, he uses two hands fielding the ball, his timing is good and he has playable range. Andrew needs to work at the agility drills both for speed and efficiency. Also he needs to focus more in the field and be more aggressive in pursuit of the ball. A long toss program will help with his arm strength. On the mound Andrew showed good mound presence, tempo and he threw strikes. He needs to work on his arm action, more specifically create a bigger arm circle, keep ball facing away from his body and finish in-line with his target. At the plate Andrew has an athletic setup, stable balance and his lower half gets through on a firm front side. He needs to shorten his swing path and not bar his lead arm on load. It would benefit him to either use a smaller/lighter bat or choke up so he can control his swing better. Andrew is a great kid who works hard. As he matures his skills will improve and if he makes the proper adjustments and works at them he will be a solid player in the future.
