12/20/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Andrew is a very coachable player and is also a great team player. On the mound, he shows good poise and fields his position well. Fastball showed a range of 75-77 mph with tailing action. He shows a sound/repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose/free to the plate. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with late break and shows potential as being a quality pitch. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Feet are active and he displays a clean glove but will benefit by presenting hands more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic/squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and works to stay inside the ball with gap to gap pop.

09/04/2016 - College PREP - Livonia, MI Andrew is a lean 1B/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and works to stay inside the ball with gap to gap pop. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. At 1B, he shows smooth/clean actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. He moves well laterally displaying range to both sides. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 76-80 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with late break and is a quality pitch that will get outs. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all of his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Andrew has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
