05/08/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Madison, WI Andrew continues to progress on the diamond. Defensively, he has active prep and moves well on the balls of his feet. He works fluidly around the GB from right to left, gathers well and has a quick/clean exchange to throw. Throws are strong as he fires the ball accurately on a line to 1B. As a hitter - he has an aggressive approach and steps into the box looking to swing it. He has rhythm to load, barrels the ball up and drives it on a line. Added overall strength will help to increase power from both sides of the plate. Andrew continues to work hard to mold himself into a well-rounded MIF.

07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Andrew continues to show improvements in his overall ability. Defensively in the INF he showed sure hands with solid range and the ability to play through the ball. He can continue to focus on improving his overall foot speed to help make his routes to the ball quicker. Offensively, Andrew showed a good feel for switch hitting and the ability to continue as he gets older. From both sides he shows the ability to use the entire field, simple approach, and direct path. On both sides he can work on the rhythm and timing of his swing. Overall Andrew showed "Gamer" qualities and is very coachable, he definitely has a bright future in the game.

07/26/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Andrew was very impressive at Pirate City, especially as an outfielder. He has good athleticism, above average arm strength, accuracy to the target, gets good jumps on the ball, sure hands and solid footwork. At the plate Andrew made good adjustments during the event but he needs to continue to work at the fundamentals. More specifically he needs to limit the motion before the swing, level his swing path so it is going towards the field and not the ground and shorten his stride. Andrew is a good/aggressive baserunner and has a very good baseball IQ. If he continues to work at his game there is no reason Andrew cannot be a very successful player in the future.

06/02/2013 - Interactive Video Program - River Forest (Chicago), IL Andrew is a thin, 2-way player who plays SS and OF. In the INF, Andrew has good pre-pitch actions, his feet are active, and his hands are sure. He fields out front, in an athletic position, and throws with a loose arm with consistency to his target. In the OF, Andrew has fluid footwork, an aggressive approach, and he throws with accuracy to his cutoff man. Offensively, Andrew has an open set-up, good balance and average bat speed. He has a level swing and uses his lower 1/2 well. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Avoid stabbing BH
2. Long toss
3. Play more through
Outfield
1. Throw downhill
2. Play through fly balls
Offense
1. Let ball travel
2. Barrel accuracy
3. Physical strength

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
