06/04/2017 - College PREP - Medford (Boston), MA Andrew continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show at 2B for the first time at the event. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. In the MIF, feet are aggressive as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure but will benefit by presenting more out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently.

12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Andrew is a high energy outfield prospect who graduates in 2018. As a right-handed hitter, Andrew has a square stance with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with his load and takes a long stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Andrew keeps a level barrel through a long swing path. He shows solid contact to the pull side with the potential to add power. In the outfield, Andrew has solid pre-pitch actions and gets a good first step with his active footwork. He covers good ground and gets behind the baseball as he fields it in an athletic position with a soft glove. Andrew has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a high 3/4 slot. He plays with good momentum through his release and towards his target producing consistent, online throws. Overall, Andrew is a coachable prospect who works hard and has good potential to develop his skill set even further.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
