07/20/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Andrew showed very well during his time in CA at the Baseball Factory National West Showcase. Offensively, this RHH has fluid rhythm in his hands with an athletic setup and strong base. He takes a hack, firing the barrel through the zone with authority and creating consistent/hard contact. He drives the ball to the gaps and will be a run producer. At SS, Andrew displays quick/active footwork, moving well on the balls of his feet. He presents his glove, fields the ball out in front and funnels smoothly. Transfer/exchange is clean as he has a cannon for an arm, zipping the ball accurately across the diamond (92 mph). He has the versatility to play anywhere is the INF and will be a solid addition to roster looking for a player with the full arsenal of skills.

05/03/2015 - College PREP - Phoenix, AZ Andrew is a tall, athletic SS/1B that will graduate in 2016 with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 7.06 60 time. At 1B, defensive abilities are outstanding, displaying fluid / smooth actions. Hands / feet work well through the fielding process and he is a quality receiver at the bag, displaying proper footwork. He consistently showed sure hands and the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. At SS, he utilizes his quick feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range in the MIF. He attacks balls while presenting hands well out front and shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Arm strength is at a pro level as indicated by his top velocity of 94 mph at the arm strength station. Throws display accuracy, life, and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Hands work inside the ball as he utilizes all fields, displaying gap to gap pop. Andrew has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
