10/21/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Columbia, MD Andrew is a 2023 athlete who showcased very well as a two way player in Columbia, MD. Good size and a strong frame allow for success at the plate and on the mound. Skill summary below. Hitting - Creates solid rhythm - Uses lower 1/2 very well - Compact swing - Needs to create a little more separation to use more of his natural power. Pitching - Plus arm action, free and easy - Good size on the mound - Loads into his back leg efficiently - Needs to work more on secondary pitches Mix: FB(76-79mph), CB(55-56mph), CH(62-63mph)

10/13/2019 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Andrew is a solid catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a quick transfer/exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.45 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He tracks balls well and sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He make consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, Andrew has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

10/13/2018 - College Recruiting Day - Columbia, MD Andrew is a 1B/RHP prospect who will gradaute in 2023. In the field, Andrew shows efficient footwork and flashes the ability to finish plays. He gets into a square position and fields the ball with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and works into a simple load. His hips and hands work well together leading to solid contact. On the mound, Andrew gathers over the rubber and is fluid separating his hands. He shows a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 62mph. Breaking ball sits from 49-54mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 49-54mph. Knuckle ball sits from 48-49mph. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
