01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Andrew is a 2022 C/1B prospect out of Lake Charles, LA who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American Tournament. Behind the dish, he has an easy sit, with flexible hips, and has quiet actions. Works with good direction towards second base as he replaces his feet and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Has an athletic/low secondary position as he works his thumb under the baseball. Showed a quick/clean transfer, and an arm velocity up to 88mph and a best pop time of 1.88 seconds. Throws were accurate and on-line with good carry. Showed a good spine angle, with a soft chest, and ability to roll his shoulders. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Has a controlled load, with intent in swing, and showed ability to keep his hands inside the baseball. He hits into a firm front side with a fast barrel through the hitting zone. He hit hard line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 91mph. In live game action, Andrew reached base 5 times with a triple, a double, a single, and 2 base on balls. With another year of development, we foresee this Tulane commit having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Andrew is an athletic C prospect who showed well at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. Behind the plate, Andrew sits in an athletic primary stance and receives with a strong glove. He gets into his secondary stance on time and replaces his feet to throw. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeps his throws accurate to the 2B bag. Andrew creates good angles when blocking and shows a good spine angle. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is controlled getting into a small load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a short swing with fast bat speed and plus barrel control, leading to loud contact and line drives. Overall, Andrew is a talented prospect who will be one to follow throughout his high school career.

03/25/2018 - College PREP - Lake Charles, LA Andrew is a lean C/3B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.14. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work to and through an aggressive approach, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.10 range with accuracy / carry on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He tracks balls well and sticks balls in the zone but needs to widen his stance and needs to utilize his body more through the blocking process. At 3B, he displays clean actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper angles but needs to attack ball more and play through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. With 4 years to further develop, Andrew has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
