06/23/2023 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series Andrew is a 2027 C who showcased his skills during the BF Select Training at The College World Series. Behind the plate he has an easy sit and a quick arm. Works with good direction towards second base as he replaces his feet and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Made accurate throws to 2nd base as he recorded an arm velocity up to 72mph and a best pop time of 2.37 seconds. Shows a good spine angle on his blocks and tucks his chin. He was vocal behind dish and controlled the game. At the plate he hits from an athletic and square stance with loose/comfortable hands. He gets knob to C and takes an aggressive hack. He gets on-plane early and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. In live game action, he proved to be a tough out as he reached base 5 times with 2 singles, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. Coaches and scouts voted Andrew top overall player at the Omaha event. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

03/19/2023 - National Showcase - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Andrew is a 2027 C/OF prospect from Madison, AL. Behind the dish, he shows off active feet and does a good job of getting in a low, athletic fielding position. He's very comfortable behind the plate and gives his pitchers a good low target and plus glove presentation. He does a good job of tucking his chin on balls in the dirt. He creates momentum to his target on throws. In the OF, he covers a ton of ground. He's very aggressive tracking fly balls and he makes all the routine plays. Works hard to get behind every fly ball. At the plate, he starts with a squared, tall stance. His stride is squared to the pitcher and his lower half leads his swing. He is a contact hitter that sprays the ball to all fields. He does a good job of tracking pitches and works hard to get his front foot down early. Exciting player to watch with 4 years of high school out in front of him!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
