01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament
Andrew Keck is a very intriguing 2018 backstop that continues to impress in all facets of the game. Defensively, he is extremely athletic, sitting with good flexibility and receiving with a clean glove in front. He is quiet with his actions and throws with loose arm action, flashing pops in the 1.9 range. At the dish, he has a very smooth swing, spraying the ball to all fields. He is compact and consistent delivering a direct barrel and generates fast bat speed with his natural leverage and present strength at 6'3/200 lbs. In all - the St. Louis native is a sub 7 runner that has exceptional feel for the game behind, and at the dish.
10/23/2016 - College PREP - O'Fallon, MO
Andrew is a tall, strong, athletic 2018 C/OF prospect. He is an excellent defensive catcher with the footwork and arm strength that lead to lightening quick pop times (1.92 seconds). Behind the dish, he has quick feet and good lateral agility to take good angles to block balls in the dirt. He gains ground to throw and has a quick exchange and release to cut down potential base stealers. In the outfield, he shows fluid actions and agile movements to track down balls and gain ground on throws. His arm is strong and accurate and he fields cleanly with soft, presented hands. At the plate, this RHH is quiet in the box with good balance throughout his swing. He has a direct path to the ball with a fast bat through the zone and makes hard contact to all field, getting good extension to finish. Leveling out his path will lead to more line drives and base hits moving forward. Andrew is a very exciting, young prospect who we have high hopes for.
12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1
Andrew is a coachable, hardworking catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show a range of 2.07-2.20 with life and carry on his throws as he displays outstanding arm strength. Receiving / blocking tools are quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he shows a solid/aggressive approach looking to swing the bat. Hands are loose and work through the point of contact, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball and shows a feel for the barrel, displaying gap to gap pop. A 2018 graduate, Andrew has a lot of potential and will be a player to follow.
