08/04/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Andrew continues to develop his skills on the diamond. On the bump, he hides the ball through his delivery which can be deceptive for the hitter. FB shows cut with slight downward movement as he keeps the ball down in the zone. He works in-line toward the dish and pitches to contact, giving his defense a chance. In the OF, Andrew hustles after everything hit his way. He can cover some ground and make the tough plays on balls hit into the gaps. With the bat, this RHH displays an aggressive approach not wasting any time. He shows fluid rhythm and works back into a strong loaded position. He waits for his pitch, connects and drives it. A 2016 grad - Andrew is versatile enough to give his team innings on the bump and as well as play the OF.

05/04/2014 - College PREP - Lakewood (Denver), CO Andrew is a tall, solid RHP that will graduate in 2016 with a body well suited for the mound. Delivery is repeatable as he uses his lower half well and allows his arm action to work long and free to the plate through a 3/4 arm slot. Fastball shows a range of 72-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with slight arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to throw more strikes. With 2 years to further develop, Low has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
