08/05/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Andrew is a lean 1B/RHP that will graduate in 2014. Currently, he projects best at 1B for the next level. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup with balance / rhythm. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grades will continue to improve as he learns to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. At 1B, feet are active as he works to square balls up and presents hands well out front. Hands are soft / clean as he consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to improve his footwork around the bag and present glove more out front. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 70-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with slight break. Control is a solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with fading action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a hard worker and is very coachable. Moran has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
