02/04/2018 - College PREP - Houston, TX Andrew is a 2020 3B prospect with a well-rounded set of tools. He has a strong arm that flashes at the hot corner with his ability to make long throws from the line. His setup is active pre-pitch and he gets in position to take efficient angles to the ball. He is athletic to field with soft hands and is quick to transfer and release to get rid of it. At the dish, he is aggressive hunting a pitch to drive and drives through his lower half in his swing. His bat is fast through the zone and he extends through contact to drive the ball. Shortening his path to the ball will result in more hard contact moving forward. Andrew is a player we want to keep an eye on as he continues to develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
