12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Andrew is a coachable C/RHP prospect out of Middletown, MD who showcased his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. Behind the dish, Andrew sits in a relaxed stance and receives with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he replaces his feet to throw, keeping his throws accurate to the 2B bag. He tucks his chin when blocking and works to keep dirt balls in front of him. Moving sooner to block can help Andrew have more control over dirt balls. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and gets into his load well. He creates good separation and shows a knack for putting the barrel on the ball. During the event Andrew went 4-8 with a double while adding three walks. Andrew can generate more pop off the barrel by continuing to add strength. On the mound, Andrew starts with a simple rock step and gathers over the rubber. He works with a clean arm and accelerates through his release. Andrew operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph with good lateral movement. Breaking ball sits from 67-70mph with 10-4 break. Striding inline toward the plate can help Andrew improve his pitch command. Overall, Andrew is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
