09/16/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Andrew is a 2-way player (3B/RHP) with a strong, athletic frame at 6'2", 185-pounds. There is intensity and urgency to everything he does on the field showing itself most in his aggressive swing at the plate. Andrew is a weight shift hitter with a big stride and a full move through contact into his finish. He has some pull power, but showed he is comfortable going the other way with a dingle to right field in the game. As a defender Andrew has sure hands and enough arm to stay on the left side of the infield. That arms strength is on display when he takes the mound as well. He touched 87 mph at the Futures East event with some effort and head movement that added to his deception. His fastball had some tailing life and a 2-plane breaking ball and change rounded out his 3-pitch arsenal. Andrew is a solid all-around player who can help a team in many ways.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
