Official Scouting Report

  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

08/11/2019 - College PREP - Springfield, OR Andrew is an athletic and talented 2020 2-way prospect. In the OF, Andrew is on time with his prep step, he works behind the ball, and makes strong throws to the plate. He has good firs step to the ball and shows off his range to the gaps. At the plate, Andrew starts in a tall stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He gets to balance, creates some rotation in his lower half, and looks to drive the ball to all fields. He has a direct swing path and makes consistent hard contact. On the bump, Andrew gathers over the rubber, he pivots off the back foot, and stays directional in his delivery. He throws his fastball up in the zone, he has a medium break on his curveball, and cuts his changeup. Andrew will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
