Official Scouting Report

  • 2BPosition Projection

08/01/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Newnan, GA Andrew is a lean 2B who will graduate in 2025. At 2B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works around the ball and plays through with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. With 4 years to further develop, Andrew has potential with time and room to progress his game.

02/09/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Douglasville (Atlanta), GA Andrew increased arm strength to 52 MPH and worked out at SS and OF in Atlanta. In the INF, Andrew has a good approach to the ball through efficient footwork. He squares up well, shows a clean exchange, and he throws with a high 3/4 arm slot across the diamond. In the OF, Andrew has active footwork, he has an aggressive approach to the ball, and he takes good angles. He tracks well, his exchange is clean, and he throws from a long arm action to his target. At the plate, Andrew has a square stance, a short stride, and good balance. He makes level/consistent contact and he uses his lower 1/2. Andrew can get better with work on the following.

Infield
1. Hands
2. Fielding position
3. Long toss
Outfield
1. Avoid drifting
2. Range
Offense
1. Shorten swing
2. Bat speed
3. Rhythm

He has sure hands, a clean exchange, and he throws with a loose arm action across the diamond. In the OF, Andrew has active feet, he tracks well, and catches the ball at its highest point. He gives very good effort and hustle in the OF. Offensively, Andrew has a square set-up, good balance, and he swings aggressively. He makes level/consistent contact, and hits hard to the pull side. Overall skills can spike with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
